Whether you are looking for the perfect destination for an adventure sports vacation, a relaxing break or a romantic getaway, Bad Hindelang is a great choice. This popular spa town in Bavarian Germany is as culturally rich as it is picturesque, with an excellent ski resort as well. Bad Hindelang hotels are of an excellent quality and offer some luxurious spa facilities of their own.

Many of the places to stay here are smaller boutique hotels, offering intimate and luxurious living spaces. The modern, spacious hotel rooms here offer plenty of added extras, such as alarm clocks and televisions. The family-run guesthouses offer rustic rooms with charming, traditional décor and wonderfully friendly service. You can relax amidst classic four-poster beds and romantic views from hotel room balconies.

The Bad Hindelang hotels typically provide hearty breakfast buffets, created with fresh local produce. Many offer excellent hotel restaurants too, where you can sample some delicious Bavarian specialties, such as sausages and local cheeses, as well as Franconian wines and German beers. The hotel bars are a great place to meet other guests and locals and relax in the comfortable surroundings with friendly staff and a refreshing drink.

Some of the great health and wellness facilities that you will find in the Bad Hindelang hotels include heated pools, a variety of saunas and state-of-the-art steam baths and solariums, to leave you feeling cleansed and rejuvenated. Alternatively, if you require more strenuous leisure activities at your hotel, you can experience the contemporary fitness suites and even gym classes that are available at some of the larger establishments.

Visitors arriving in Bad Hindelang with children can take advantage of babysitting and child minding services at these hotels, so that parents can experience the fascinating sights of this spa town by night. There are also children's play areas in the hotel grounds that are popular with younger guests too.

Bad Hindelang is nestled into the base of the Allgau Mountains and offers visitors a wealth of things to see and do. The local sulfurous springs provide a mineral-rich source that feeds the local spas. The town was a popular health resort with wealthy Europeans looking for cures for various ailments in the 19th century. Its popularity remains to this day and you can enjoy a selection of traditional and contemporary treatments at the local spas. The town is located on six levels of varying height, to allow visitors to the health resort to gradually adjust to the increasing altitude. As well as enjoying the health benefits of relaxing in pools of the local spring waters, you can indulge in whey baths, created from the local mountain pastures, which are thought to have a rejuvenating effect on the skin. There are also programs to improve back and joint pain or to simply improve general health.

In winter, this town is transformed into a modern winter wonderland with excellent opportunities for enjoying the snow. The local ski resort is located at a high altitude, which ensures it sees plenty of snow, as well as sun. There is a huge amount of pistes available for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities, including a gentle nursery slope for beginners. Oberjoch Mountain is the best place for families, due to its more gradual slopes and wider pistes, as well as its excellent ski school that is available for adults and children alike. Many of the Bad Hindelang hotels have neighboring ski lifts to enable you to ski in and out with ease and enjoy the twenty miles of terrain on offer.

Alternatively, there are a number of excellent trails for Nordic walking, otherwise known as cross-country skiing. There are almost twenty-eight miles of trails available to you, where you can explore the area from Tannheim Valley as far as Junholz. If that is not enough to whet your appetite, there is floodlit night skiing on the mountain every Thursday.

In the warmer months, these tracks and trails become excellent places for hiking and cycling. There is a great bike park at Hornbahn Hindelang, which is a challenging ten miles of downhill tracks that follow the ski runs. You can reach the top of the mountain, the start of the trails, using the 8-man gondola with your bike in tow. At the summit, you will be treated to a breathtaking panorama, as well as stunning views all the way down.
